When Was the Last Time You Prayed for Your Pastor?

by LeAundra Stewart-Boyice

Pastor...Overseer...Shepherd...

Have you ever wondered what it must be like for your pastor? What it must be like to be called by God to care for God's people?  It's more than just producing a sermon every week, attending meetings, and all the things you see on the surface.

Being a pastor means so much more! There are so many things pastors do that you may never see.

There are times they walk the halls of hospitals to sit quietly at the bedsides of your loved ones, they visit the homes of the sick and elderly. They sometimes ignore the pain and anguish in their own personal lives and their own self-care to insure your personal needs are met. Pastors shed tears for your hardships, they rejoice in your accomplishments, and during the midnight hour they are on their knees praying for your well-being.

God has assigned a beautiful and dutiful spirit to care for your soul as if it were their own.

What is it like for your pastor? Sometimes it's a thankless, overlooked, and lonely existence. However, their call from the Most High is what sustains them.

Love on, pray for, and thank God for the one who has been called and assigned to love on and pray for you...they need it too.
