Let's Make Some Art!

I hope this post finds you well. How has this week been going? Have you noticed any changes in your mood? It has been one month since Mayor Lucas issued the Stay At Home order - longer for anyone who voluntarily stayed home before the order. Depending on how you deal with crisis, anxiety, grief, and trauma, emotions may be shifting for you. No matter what you're feeling, making art can help by:

  • Supporting non-verbal processing of emotion

  • Making it easier to take risks

  • Creating comfort with the unknown

  • Increasing confidence by learning a new skill

  • Reminding us that God's power to create is greater than our power to destroy.

If you have been looking for a different way to engage while staying home, tryout Art Class with Beka. You'll learn acrylic painting and color mixing techniques that will not only help your own art creation, but will also give you a new appreciation for paintings in galleries and museums. The best part? Beka will gather up all the supplies you need according to CDC packaging guidelines, and provide a contact-free drop off to your home. Then, you'll pop into Zoom to take the class. This is your opportunity to support a local artist, gain new skills, and connect with other Broadway community members. You can also forward this email to anyone you know who might be interested (for those of you who have already signed up - thank you!).
