Building Renovations Are Fun, Right?

Renovations are moving right along at our new building. A tremendous effort has been made by the Coordinating Team, Steering Committee, and numerous volunteers.

The Landscaping Team met this morning to plan out the green spaces around the building. We will have help from the Middle School Youth Group from Leawood United Methodist Church on June 4th. A dozen or so of their youth will be working with our Landscaping Team to cultivate green space we can be proud of. The youth group is generously donating $500 for materials as well. We are so excited about this partnership!

The vision for the outdoor space centers around indigenous flowers, shrubs and grasses that will not require mowing. We hope to source plants as locally as we can - which includes your garden! Have your bulbs multiplied? Do you need a place to put them once you dig them out? We'll happily find a new home for them at our new building. If you have questions, Thressa Newell, John Bozarth, and Jeff Belk are the best people to talk with about our landscaping efforts.

If you aren't sure how to help out with the new building and want to get involved, please contact me (amy@broadwaychurchkc.org) or Taylor Kent (taylorraykent@gmail.com) who is our Property Stewardship Committee Chair. We will be painting again this Saturday beginning at 9:30 am, wrapping up around 3:00 pm.

I have slowly been meeting our neighbors, who are all really nice and excited about us moving into the neighborhood. Our little corner of Kansas City is teeming with potential!
