Alaska Airlines Baggage Allowance
Carry-on baggage and one personal item are allowed on Alaska Airlines. This carry-on baggage must not have more than the individual dimensions of 22'' x 14'' x 9'' or the linear dimensions of 45'' (L+B+H). There is no limit on the weight of hand luggage that must be carried on board. However, if the ticket reservation is made on SkyWest or Horizon airlines, the dimensions must not exceed 9" high x 14" wide x 22" long. These dimensions include handles and wheels.
Alaska Airlines checked baggage allows you to carry standard 50 lbs. and 62'' linear dimension bags. There is a standard bag fee of $30 for the first checked bag and $40 for the second. If more bags are to be transported, and each bag falls within this allowable size and weight limit, charges will be $100 beginning with the third bag.
If the baggage size is between 63-115 linear inches or the weight is between 51-100 pounds, the charges are $100 for each excess. If the size and weight limits are greater, the charges for each will be paid separately.
Codeshare flights with another airline may have a different baggage policy. Passengers are requested to check baggage policies with us in case other airlines are also involved in the flight itinerary.
Checked baggage (first bag or both) is free for certain passengers. These include Club 49 members, Elite-level Mileage Plan members, Alaska Airlines credit card holders, first class travelers, Alaska domestic travelers, active US military members and their dependents.
