We need love and emotional attachment just as much as we need food and water. The fear of losing our romantic partner can show up in a number of harmful ways. The research of John Bowlby and Sue Johnson teaches us:
- How to identify our own attachment needs
- Recognize when fear is motivating us and creating conflict
- Turn toward each other for comfort instead of moving against our partner
By focusing on our emotions, we can move out of harmful disconnection towards supportive emotional bonding.
